CSC to offer AI, leadership courses to government workers

MANILA, Philippines —  The Civil Service Commission (CSC) will be offering government workers online courses on strategic use of artificial intelligence, financial literacy and improving leadership and managerial skills.

The financial education course for government officials and employees will start on June 13-14, to be conducted by the Civil Service Institute (CSI) in partnership with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the Banco De Oro Foundation.

“The 10-hour seminar will enable participants to apply various tools, tips and techniques in financial decision-making toward acquiring financial health and freedom,” the CSC said.

The Competency-based Human Resource Management System training program will be held from June 5 to 11. The program is aimed at enhancing “workforce competencies to improve organizational outcomes.”

The “AI in the Workplace” course will be offered on June 14, providing agency heads and human resource officials with “insights into cutting-edge AI applications.”

HR practitioners may also enroll in the two-day “Levels of Learning Evaluation” program on June 18-20, wherein participants will determine their agencies’ learning needs and “draft learning evaluation processes and tools based on their assessment.”

For chiefs and supervisors, they may enroll in the “Emotional Intelligence and Leadership” course on June 18-19.

“The program aims to develop leadership self-awareness and discover how to strengthen emotional intelligence as leaders through a concrete Emotional Intelligence Self-Development Action Plan,” the CSC said.

A “CSI Leadership Series” forum will be held on June 21 “to equip public sector executives, managers, directors and chiefs with effective management and leadership practices as well as emerging trends in leadership from exemplary leaders, organizations and leadership gurus.”

A self-paced “Leadership in the Digital Era” course will be available from June 26 to Aug. 26, which would enable participants to “embrace digital leadership, especially in transitioning to the new normal toward strategic leadership and organizational transformation.”
