CSU receives awards for quality management

CAGAYAN State University (CSU) has been honored by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) for its dedication to exceptional local government and proficiency in quality management.

CSU President Urduja Alvarado said the university has been honored with the prestigious «NextGen Regional CapDev Accelerator in Local Government – Region 2 Award» for extending unequaled dedication to exceptional local governance.

Alvarado said this accolade, presented by the DILG through the Local Government Academy, symbolizes the dedication of CSU to advancing innovation and excellence in local governance by further strengthening the DILG vision and mission.

On behalf of CSU, Executive Officer Arthur Ibañez of CSU Carig Campus accepted this recognition during the 8th Capacity Development Awards for Catalysts of Excellence – Connection for Excellent Local Governance at the Centennial Hall, Manila Hotel, on Dec. 12, 2023.

CSU also received Recognition for Proficiency in Quality Management under the Philippine Quality Award.

Alvarado said the award is an honor recognizing CSU's proficiency in quality management for making noteworthy advancements in the development of efficient processes.

Conferred by the DTI, she said the award is a testament to the university's commitment to performance excellence in the delivery of education and services through total quality management.

The conferment ceremony was conducted during the Cagayan Valley Creative and Competitive Cities and Municipalities Summit and Philippine Quality Awards Conferment Ceremony at the Isabela Convention Center in Cauayan City, Isabela, on Dec. 7, 2023.

DTI Region 2 Director Leah Pulido Ocampo, joined by DTI-Competitiveness Bureau representative Carol Velasquez, handed the trophy to CSU representatives led by Dr. Marie Claudette Calanoga, CSU Quality Assurance director.
