DAR-BJMP continues partnership against Hunger and Poverty

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Zamboanga Del Norte continue its partnership in combatting hunger and poverty and ensuring food security through their renewal of marketing agreement implemented under the Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (PAHP) Program.

PAHP program is a collaborative effort aims to combat hunger and poverty by fostering cooperation among governmental bodies, agricultural organizations, and correctional facilities to promote sustainable development and community well-being.

Under the PAHP marketing agreement, Guinles Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GUIFAMUCO), an agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organization (ARBO), would continue to supply their agricultural products to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Female Dormitory in Dipolog City.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer (PARPO) II Rizzel Villanueva said this agreement would continue to strengthen the market stability of GUIFAMUCO and boost their livelihood as they have stable and institutional market for their products.

“This agreement and its continued partnership strengthen the commitment to ensure adequate and palatable food for our Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) and alleviating poverty by continuously supplying them with healthful goods while contributing to the market growth of ARBOs, particularly in GUIFAMUCO,” he said.

Villanueva and OIC-PARPO I Alfonso Tan signed as witnesses on the signing of the Marketing Agreement (MA) between the GUIFAMUCO in Guinles, Polanco, represented by ARBO Chairman Russell Bagarinao, and the Dipolog City Jail-Female Dormitory, represented by SJO4 Prima Magallanes, held on February 27, 2024, at DAR Provincial Office, Dipolog City.
