DAR capacitates development communicators on radio broadcasting

The Department of Agrarian Reform Region 02 conducted a three-day Training on Radio Broadcasting for the Regional/Provincial Information Officers (R/PIOs) along with the writers and contributors on October 25-27, 2023 at Las Palmas de San Jose, Tuguegarao City.

According to Supervising Administrative Officer Ma. Annette L. Romano, this training aims to capacitate all the information officers not only in news writing but even in radio broadcasting. The R/PIOs have the management’s full support to empower them in order to deliver timely, accurate and relevant news to the public, she added.

While Richard T. Francisco, Regional Information Officer extended his gratitude to the top management headed by Regional Director Primo C. Lara for the opportunity given to the participants

“Our radio program, Rang-Ay Ti Away is aired every Thursday at 3:00PM to 4:00PM at DWPE Radyo ng Bayan Tuguegarao. In order to catch up with the time, we need to undergo trainings like this. We need to add flavors in our radio program to become more pleasing to our listeners and watchers, he added.

Domingo “Ding” T. Fugaban, a Radio Announcer, served as Resource Person and shared his knowledge and expertise on radio broadcasting. He discussed some topics like: Do’s and Don’t in Radio Broadcasting, Tips in Writing Radio News Scripts, Tips on how to do Radio Interview, etc.

The participants were divided into two (2) during the workshop and simulation for the simulation of radio interview/press conference. Meanwhile, the simulation of 30-minute radio program was composed of introduction program intro, information teaser, field news breaker, infomercials, interviews and the like was aired on 106.5 KHz.

During the simple closing program, Alexa Mamauag, ARPT from DARPO Isabela said “I am lucky to attend such worthy training like this. This is a big help on my present job.”

Also, Jefferson Tumolva, Legal Officer, remarked that I learned a lot from this training. I hope I can be of help in producing quality news for the general public,” he said.

The three-day activity was attended by CAO Romano, RIO and PIOs, writers and contributors of DAR Region 02 and facilitated by SARPO Noemi M. Knowlden.
