The task of restoring vitality to our agriculture sector is fraught with gargantuan challenges. That he was chosen by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. for the job of Agriculture Secretary is a solid testimony to the confidence of the President in his ability to overcome these challenges.

The President painstakingly and tirelessly crafted an integrated roadmap toward a stronger agriculture sector by focusing on establishing a solid agricultural value chain to ensure not only higher farm productivity, better farm income and a better quality of life for farmers, but sustainable food sufficiency and security for all Filipinos.

Our task is to follow this roadmap and make sure that the next five years will bring to life the President’s vision of a stronger agriculture sector that is the backbone of national growth and development.

In this spirit, we convey our fullest support to our new Agriculture Secretary and look forward to a strong and active partnership with him in forging strategic policies and programs that will uplift the plight of our farmers and make the President’s vision for a strong and resilient agriculture sector a beneficial reality for our people.
