DAR Caraga begins 3-day capacity building on graphics content creation

To better enrich the ability to produce content of Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) employees regionwide, the Regional Office kicked off its 3-day Basic Graphical Arts and Infographics Creation Training-Workshop on May 27, 2024 at Almont City Hotel, Butuan City.

Lasting until May 29, this training is a significant step towards enhancing graphic design skills using the popular website, Canva, amongst information officers and other employees and project implementers of DAR Caraga.

This training aims to equip participants with the skills necessary to produce visually-appealing and informative graphics, which is increasingly crucial in today’s digital age.

In his message, OIC-Assistant Regional Director for Administration and Support Services, Joie L. Ceballos, explained “We want to upgrade our staff in terms of communications. In today’s generation, communication is not only speeches; it’s no longer writing. There are so many platforms where you can communicate to different audiences of different ages and interests.”

OIC-ARDA Ceballos continued, “The purpose of our training is to identify the right platform and the right content so that we may reach a larger audience and introduce agrarian reform.”

Led by esteemed resource speaker, Elpsalms David Franco, of First Global Digifoot, Inc., he began the training with a comprehensive session on the introduction of Canva as the emerging popular graphic design tool.

Recognized for its user-friendly interface and versatile features, Canva has become an indispensable tool for novice and seasoned designers. Mr. Franco demonstrated how Canva can be leveraged to easily create professional-grade infographics and graphical content. Various hands-on exercises were also conducted to gauge the participants' overall knowledge regarding Canva.

He also emphasized the importance of understanding the core components of compelling graphics. Covering key topics such as typography, layout design, and visual hierarchy, Mr. Franco provided a solid foundation for participants to build upon.
