DAR Pangasinan inspects progress of greenhouse, tissue culture labs

Despite the scorching summer heat, the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Pangasinan led by PARPO II Charlotte Lasmarias, conducted on-site inspections of new agricultural projects.

The inspections focused on enterprise-based crop nurseries with greenhouses and tissue culture laboratories in Sta. Maria, Infanta, Urbiztondo, Bayambang, and Alaminos City, Pangasinan.

The inspections revealed promising developments. The tissue culture labs in Sta. Maria and Infanta are expected to benefit the Northern Bayambang MPC and Infanta ARBs and Farmers Association. These labs are on track for handover to the corresponding agrarian reform beneficiaries' organizations (ARBOs) within the year.

Similarly, the greenhouses in Urbiztondo, Bayambang, and Alaminos City are anticipated to support the Casapigarean Farmers Association, Sanlibo Farmers Association, and Bayanihan Hundred Islands Agrarian Reform Cooperative, respectively.

This project aligns with the Sustainable and Resilient Agrarian Reform Communities Program (SuRe ARC Project). This program aims to empower local communities by providing access to high-quality seeds and seedlings. By ensuring the production of improved crop varieties and high-quality plant materials, the project ultimately seeks to increase agricultural productivity and boost household incomes.
