DAR, PNP unite to launch Agraryo Merkado sa Kampo

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Camarines Sur, in collaboration with the Philippine National Police (PNP), successfully launched the Agraryo Merkado sa Kampo at the Camarines Sur Provincial Police Office (CSPPO) in Naga City which will enable the members of agrarian cooperatives to sell their products directly to over fifty uniformed personnel every 15th and 30th of the month.

"This is a demonstration that we in the government are united in helping our farmers," Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Augusto SA. Medina, Jr. said.

The initiative is spearheaded by DAR Regional Director Reuben Theodore C. Sindac, based on President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.'s Food for All agenda, which aims to ensure food security across the nation.

Sindac said aside from targeting police officers, the CSPPO's strategic, high-traffic location will also attract residents and passersby, broadening the farmers' customer base.

“The joint efforts of DAR and PNP promise a brighter future for the farmers of Camarines Sur, with ongoing support ensuring the continued success of initiatives like the Agraryo Merkado sa Kampo,” Sindac said.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Nicel Compañero, Chief of the Provincial Community Affairs and Development Unit, emphasized the significance of the initiative: "Agraryo Merkado sa Kampo is not just an event but a statement of the power of collaboration and committed spirit." He pledged his full support, highlighting the initiative's role in empowering agrarian communities and fostering sustainable development in the province.

Police Colonel Julius Cesar P. Domingo, Provincial Director of the CSPPO, echoed this sentiment, expressing his vision to elevate the country's agricultural sector to match that of progressive neighboring countries. He encouraged his fellow officers to support the farmers by purchasing their products, thereby enhancing their own families' health and nutrition.

The DAR-PNP partnership represents a fusion of their mandates to address insurgencies through genuine land reform. "If everyone has a livelihood, no one will go hungry, and crime will be reduced," he said.
