DAR turns over Php1.06M worth of farm machinery and farm inputs in MisOcc

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently turned over a total of Php 1.06 million worth of farm machinery and farm inputs to improve the livelihood activities of an agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organization (ARBO) in the province of Misamis Occidental.

The facilities awarded to Southern Poblacion Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program Beneficiaries’ Association (CARPBA) include one (1) single-pass rice mill worth Php 365,000; three (3) floating tillers (mud boats) worth Php 240,000; two (2) hand tractors with trailers worth Php 250,000; six (6) knapsack sprayers worth Php 16,800; and a total of Php 210,000 worth of fertilizers and pesticides.

Southern Poblacion CARPBA President Pura Bolodo thanked the DAR for the facilities as she enjoined her members to use the support they received productively.

The turned-over projects were implemented under the DAR’s Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Project (CRFPSP)—Major Crop-Based Block Farm Productivity Enhancement, which aims to enhance and sustain the agricultural productivity of agrarian reform communities as an adaptation measure towards climate change resiliency.

During the ceremony, a trust agreement was also signed between the DAR and the association.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Mohammad Abdul Jabbar Pandapatan challenged the ARB to be more responsible in the maintenance of the said facilities and maximize its use to benefit the entire community.

This activity is in line with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., through the leadership of DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella III, to improve the lives of farmers in the countryside.
