DARRO NO. 1 GAD Planning workshop for CY 2024

City of San Fernando, La Union – The DAR Regional Office No. 1 Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) chaired by RD Maria Ana B. Francisco, CESO V conducted a 3 days Gender and Development (GAD) Planning Workshop at EM Royalle Hotel, San Juan, La Union on September 20-22, 2023.

Prior to the conduct of the planning workshop, the GFPS met to assess the level of GAD mainstreaming of the regional office using the tool Enhanced Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework (GMEF).

CARPO Nenita C. Madriaga of the Field Operations Division presented the four (4) elements to be considered in the preparation of the GAD Plan namely: create or strengthen the GFPS; capability building; conduct of gender audit and institutionalize Sex Disaggregated Data (SDD). The result of the GMEF was considered in addressing the GAD mandates and concerns based on the SDD prepared by the HRMO III Zenon Valdez. .

RCAO Nestor T. Pagaduan told the “5% of the office’s total budget appropriations for the year should be used using the tool for budget attribution.” This was followed during the workshop and the plan was submitted on time.
