Defeated BSKE bet, brod admit killing village chief’s kin

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — A defeated candidate in the barangay elections and his brother surrendered on Friday and admitted killing two relatives of a reelected village chief in Kibawe, Bukidnon.

Rosilo Tecson, who ran for barangay council member, and his brother Cesar told police they killed Mario Fabian and his wife Carmelita, two elders of Jenelyn Fabian, barangay captain of Kiorao.

The brothers said the killing was in retaliation for Jenelyn’s refusal to include Rosilo in her ticket.

The two said they barged into the house of Jenelyn on Tuesday night and shot the couple when they found out that the barangay captain was not home.

Kibawe police chief Maj. Marvin Enciso said the brothers, who hid in nearby Damulog town, turned themselves in upon the intercession of their relatives and barangay leaders in Kiorao.
