Deportation of detained Chinese made easier
THE Department of Justice has forged a partnership with the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. (FFCCCI) to facilitate the deportation of Chinese citizens detained in immigration facilities in the country.
This after the DOJ signed a memorandum of understanding with the Fil-Chi business group to ensure full compliance of detained Chinese citizens with the department’s relevant procedures and processes on deportation back to the People’s Republic of China.
The FFCCCI shall assist by providing air transportation arrangements for the detained Chinese citizens once they are cleared for deportation by the DOJ so they can be held accountable for their offenses in their home country.
Justice Undersecretary Jesse Hermogenes Andres said the agreement will greatly help in decongesting Philippine Immigration Detection Facilities and expedite the deportation of undesirable aliens.
Andres thanked FFCCCI president Cecilio Pedro as the initiative contributes to the strengthening of ties between Filipinos and Chinese in the country, and serves as a testament to the organization’s involvement not only on economic matters but also on socio-civic matters as well.
