DFA book fair to highlight Filipino books this National Book Month
IN celebration of the National Book Month this November, and in anticipation of the country's participation as guest of honor in the Frankfurt International Book Festival in 2025, the Department of Foreign Affairs' Office of Public and Cultural Diplomacy, together with Savage Mind Bookshop and Ateneo de Naga University Press, will hold a series of online and on-site events, celebrating the importance of Filipino books and creative contents in forging a book-loving nation.
This first-of-its-kind event aims to provide multi-sectoral and multilingual platforms and approaches to better appreciate and understand Philippine contemporary writings as exemplified by the books coming from the regions.The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Office of Public and Cultural Diplomacy will hold an online and on-site book fair at the DFA home office in Pasay City from Nov. 28-29, 2023. With the theme «Sapin-Saping Pahina, Samu't Saring Bukana,» this online and on-site book fair locates its conceptual framework and aesthetic design around the elements of books as treasured and bounded pages, containing manifold portals, inviting everyone to relish the written words. Page after page, doors beyond doors, the event hopes for participants to rediscover the joy of reading Filipino books.
