Diesel, kerosene prices rise

THE price of diesel and kerosene went up on Tuesday as tensions in the Middle East continue to affect fuel prices across the globe.

Diesel rose by P1.20 per liter, and kerosene by 70 centavos per liter.

The price of gasoline, which increased by 45 centavos last week, was unchanged.

The Department of Energy's Oil Industry Management Bureau said media reports that Israel was contemplating an attack on Iran's oil infrastructure, which in turn could trigger a supply disruption, jacked up the price of diesel and kerosene.

Disruptions in oil and gas operations in the southeast United States, which was hit by Hurricane Helene, were also a factor.

The total price increase for gasoline this year is P6.40 per liter and P4.05 for diesel.

Kerosene, meanwhile, dropped by P5.35 per liter.
