DOLE: Calabarzon to get wage hike by September

FOLLOWING the wage order issued in the National Capital Region (NCR), the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) – Region IV-A is expected to increase the minimum wage rate in Calabarzon by next month.

Speaking in a recent press briefing, Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma said he expects the Calabarzon wage board to follow the RTWPB-NCR in issuing a timely wage order with its anniversary date coming on September 24.

“The Region IV-A is also undergoing the wage review process right now,” said Laguesma.

“Its anniversary date is September 24 so the timely review before the anniversary date is ongoing,” he added.

The last wage order in Calabarzon took effect on September 24, 2023. Wage Order No. IVA-20 provided a wage increase ranging from P35 to P50.

Laguesma said Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Central Visayas, and Soccsksargen are also starting their respective wage reviews.
