DOLE job fairs in NCR net 30% instant hiring

THREE in every 10 job seekers in the series of Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) anniversary job fairs held earlier this month in the National Capital Region (NCR) have been hired on the spot (HOTS).

In a statement, DOLE-NCR reported that 396 jobseekers were hired on the spots in job fairs held in the cities of Manila, Taguig, and Malabon, as well as in the municipality of Pateros.

This is 30.7 percent of the 1,288 registered jobseekers that participated in the series of job fairs.

A series of job fairs were held earlier this month in celebration of the DOLE’s 90th anniversary, with 30,986 job vacancies offered by participating employers.

With the success of the job fairs, DOLE-NCR Director Atty. Sarah Buena Mirasol said they intend to hold similar activities in the future.

“This proves the effectiveness of the department’s initiative in bridging the gap between job seekers and employers,” she said in a statement.

“Our agency will continue to put more emphasis in providing opportunities for every Filipino to find decent jobs,” added Mirasol.
