Duty Free Philippines set to hold ‘biggest’ sale event for 37th anniversary

MANILA, Philippines — Duty Free Philippines Corporation, the country’s premier destination for duty- and tax-free shopping catering to international travelers and overseas Filipino Workers will celebrate its 37th anniversary this week with a sale event.

Dubbed as its “biggest sale event yet,” DPFC said the anniversary sale event will take place at its flagship store, the Fiestamall, from May 17 to 19, 2024.

It said that the sale even is a token of gratitude for its loyal customers.

They can enjoy up to 50% discount on wide selection of items at Fiestamall.

However, those who are purchasing online can also enjoy discounts of up to 10% on its e-commerce platform, https://dutyfreephilippines.com.ph, from May 15 to 30. The online shopping platform was launched in February this year.

In addition to the savings on in-store and online purchases, DFPC announced that those who will visit its flagship store on May 17 will be treated to summer fiesta-themed cultural performances.

DFPC Chief Operating Officer Vicente Pelagio Angala is inviting the public to join its 37th anniversary celebration.

"We are delighted to commemorate this milestone with our valued customers by offering them unmatched savings and an unforgettable shopping experience," Angala said.

"We invite everyone to join us in celebrating 37 years of excellence and innovation at Duty Free Philippines. With unbeatable discounts, exciting entertainment, and a warm atmosphere, it's an event not to be missed,” he added.

DFP, a government-owned and controlled corporation attached to the Department of Tourism was created on May 2, 1987.

Last month, DFP COO Angala and Philippine Retirement Authority General Manager Bob Zozobrado signed a memorandum of agreement to encourage retirees to choose the country as their ideal retirement destination.

Among the provision of the MOA includes 20% discount to retirees.

“These discounts will apply to a wide range of products and services, ensuring that retirees can enjoy significant savings and a high quality of life during their retirement years,” DFP said.
