Exemplary teachers receive 'Gintong Parangal'

FIVE outstanding educators and five administrators were bestowed the Ambassador Antonio L. Cabangon Chua Gintong Parangal para sa Edukasyon in celebration of World Teachers' Day at the Bulwagan ng Karunungan, Department of Education (DepEd) in Pasig City.

The five Guro and five Pamumuno awardees were joined by three Guro Honorable Mentions in the ceremonies jointly organized by Marylindbert International, Fortune Life Insurance Co. Inc. and DepEd.

The event on Oct. 3, 2023, was held to honor the exemplary deeds, hard work and discipline of educators and administrators in the country and as part of the Value of Hard Work and Discipline Advocacy Program of Fortune Life and DepEd, which aims to further promote to schoolchildren and teachers the value of hard work and discipline.

The Guro awardees (from Teacher 1 to Master Teacher) in the 12th edition of the Values Advocacy program were Marybeth Arcenas, Michael Armentia, Anna-Liza Jimenez, Moises Lopez 3rd and Michael Malvar. The Guro Honorable Mention awardees were Florence Alicante, Orencio Chavez and Cherry Lyn Balbacal.

Pamumuno awardees (division superintendents, assistant superintendents, division administrators, DepEd Division staff, Education supervisors, principals and assistant principals) this year were Ruth Estacio, Joel Pelenio, Jordan Solatorio, Cynthia Tablang and Dennis Masangcay.

Fortune Life President and CEO Dominic Arnold Cabangon congratulated the winners and recognized their invaluable contributions to the country's education system and Filipino society.

Southeast Asian Ministers of Education – Regional Center for Educational Innovation and Technology (Seameo Innotech) director and former Education secretary Leonor Briones, as guest of honor, attended the event to inspire educators and administrators as they continue to become education champions in the future.

She encouraged everyone to continue practicing good work and setting good examples for students and fellow educators in the country.
