Face-to-face classes in Manila public schools remain suspended April 27
MANILA, Philippines: Manila announced on Friday that face-to-face classes for public schools in all levels for Saturday, April 27, would remain suspended because of the dangerous heat index of 44 C over the city.
Mayor Ma. Sheilah «Honey» Lacuna-Pangan said, however, that the decision to call off classes in private schools is left to the discretion of their respective administrations.
«Schools are advised to shift to ANY ALTERNATIVE LEARNING MODALITY,» the announcement read.
Face-to-face classes have been suspended in the city since Thursday, after the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office detected a high heat index.
