Falcons survive Remogat's onslaught, repel Red Warriors

MANILA, Philippines -- The Adamson Soaring Falcons weathered the hot second half of Rey Remogat to stymie the UE Red Warriors, 72-65, Sunday night at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Remogat, who scored 23 points in the second half alone, ran out of gas toward the end of the game.

With the game tied at 63 following a pair of free throws by Remogat with 4:39 remaining in the game, Joem Sabandal hit a layup off a curl plus the foul to give them a 66-63 lead in the next possession.

A Didap Hanapi layup and a Monty Montebon gave them an insurmountable 71-63 lead with 38.4 seconds remaining as Remogat started missing.

Ced Manzano and Montebon had 13 points apiece for Adamson.

Remogat finished with 27 points and 11 rebounds for the Red Warriors.
Wello Lingolingo had 15 points for UE.

Adamson led by as much as 15 points in the game, but UE clawed their way back into the game.

Adamson had a 56-50 lead in the fourth quarter following a turnaround hook by Manzano.

But, Remogat and Lingolingo hit back-to-back 3-pointers to tie the game.

Following a split from the line by Falcon Matt Erolon, Remogat gave UE the lead with 6:51 remaining, 58-57.

Manzano left the game with 7:24 remaining after catching an elbow from Precious Momowei, which left him bloodied.

Adamson is now holding a 3-2 win-loss record, good for third place, ahead of the 3-2 La Salle Green Archers.

UE is holding a 2-3 record.
