FDA to public: Don’t buy unregistered memory booster

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) yesterday warned the public against consuming an unregistered food supplement touted to help prevent short term memory loss and attention deficit.

In its Advisory No. 2024-1038, the FDA urged the public not to buy “NEUROTECH Brain Memory Booster,” which it said “is not registered and (has) no corresponding Certificate of Product Registration (CPR).”

“The FDA warns the general public not to purchase and consume (this) unregistered food supplement,” it said, adding the product may pose adverse health effects.

“Since this food supplement has not gone through evaluation process of the FDA, the agency cannot assure its quality and safety,” it said.

The FDA warned all concerned establishments against distributing, advertising, or selling the food supplement.

It also asked the public to report any sale or distribution of the unregistered food supplement by sending an email to [email protected].

It likewise asked all law enforcement agencies and local government units to ensure that the said product is not sold or made available in their areas of jurisdiction.
