FDA warns public against unregistered ‘relief’ drug products
THE Food and Drug Administration (FDA) yesterday warned the public over the presence of unregistered drug products commonly used to relieve stress and body aches.
In Advisory Nos. 2024-0834 and 2024-0835, the FDA warned consumers against using “Green Grass Embrocation 60mL” and “White Bear Brand Relaxed Balm 8 mL.”
“FDA Post-Marketing Surveillance (PMS) activities have verified that the abovementioned drug products have not gone through the registration process of the Agency, and have not been issued with proper authorization in the form of Certificates of Product Registration,” said the FDA.
“The FDA advises the public against the purchase and use of the said unregistered drug products,” it added.
The FDA said that being unregistered means the agency cannot guarantee the quality, safety, and efficacy of the products.
“Therefore, consumption of such violative product may pose potential danger or injury to health,” said the FDA.
It also warned all concerned establishments and/or entities against distributing the above-identified violative drug products.
The FDA also asked the public to report the continuous sale or distribution of unregistered health products by e-mailing the agency via [email protected].
