Go wants more super health centers

SEN. Bong Go sought the creation of more super health centers (SHCs) as he cited its role in the early detection of diseases through accessible basic health services at the community level.

The senator raised the need to bring government health services closer to the grassroots level through the SHCs as he joined the inauguration of a Super Health Center in Biñan, Laguna on May 18.

Go also aided 464 displaced workers in Laguna. Select residents received a bicycle, watch, shoes and a mobile phone.

Super health centers offer birthing, dental, laboratory and X-ray services, and help decongest the hospitals, he said.

Go said he is committed to pursuing accessible, high-quality health care for all Filipinos. He raised the need to invest in more health care facilities.

He said that such investments are «crucial to meeting the increasing demand for medical services and ensuring timely interventions for improved health outcomes.»

Go said the centers are designed to focus on primary care, consultation and early detection, further strengthening the health care sector in the country, especially in grassroots communities.

Free consultations would be handled by municipal health offices, local government units and the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. through its Konsulta program.

The chairman of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography said «adequate funding» was allocated for establishing over 700 SHCs nationwide, including 13 in Laguna.
