Govt to bring BPSF to 61 more provinces

PRESIDENT Marcos Jr. on Monday night said his administration would continue to bring its “Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair” (BPSF) to 61 more provinces this year after bringing more than P17 billion worth of services, including financial aid to 2.3 million Filipinos, since its launch last year.

The President, during the BPSF Agency Summit 2024’s Gabi ng Pagkakaisa in Pasay City, said the program had been brought to 21 provinces since August 2023 with over P12 billion worth of various government services and nearly P5 billion in financial assistance distributed from Laoag, Ilocos Norte to Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.

“Patunay lamang ito na marami tayong magagawa [para] sa bayan basta’t tayo’y nagkakaisa. Kaya nating baguhin, pabilisin, at ilapit sa mga mamamayan ang serbisyo ng pamahalaan. Sabi nga nila, basta’t gugustuhin natin, mahahanapan natin ng paraan (This only proves that we can do a lot if we are united. We can change, expedite, and bring the services nearer to the government. As they say, as long as we want it, we can find a solution),” Marcos said.

The BPSF had its dry run in August 2023 in Biliran and was officially and simultaneously launched in Ilocos Norte, Camarines Sur, Leyte, and Davao de Oro in September 2023.

The President said that with the success and achievements of the program, the government plans to put up Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Centers in several provinces to assist and deliver the services needed by the communities.

Marcos said the BPSF was specifically done to help the Filipinos and improve their lives.

“Sa ating mga kababayan, para sa inyo po ang Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair. Nawa po, sa pamamagitan ng BPSF ay nakatulong kami upang makabuti sa inyong mga kabuhayan (To our countrymen, the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair is for you. May we, through the BPSF, be able to help uplift your lives),” he said.

Marcos also expressed gratitude to public servants, local government units (LGUs), and other partners for their unwavering determination that led to BPSF’s success.

He also urged LGUs to continue improving and expanding public service and to use technology to reach more Filipinos.
