GSIS digital ID now available

THE Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) on Friday has launched its digital ID as part of the streamlining of its services.

The launch coincided with the agency's 87th anniversary, with the theme «Kabalikat sa Bagong Pilipinas» (Partner to a New Philippines).

As of December last year, 97 percent of GSIS loan transactions have been processed electronically through digital kiosks and via GSIS Touch mobile app, with only 3 percent handled over the counter.

«The GSIS continuously strives to stay ahead and make it safer and more convenient for government workers to transact. We are not just launching a digital ID — this signals a new era where our members and pensioners can fully access our services easily through their smartphones,» Jose Arnulfo Veloso, GSIS president and general manager, said in a statement.

«The launch of the GSIS Digital ID aligns with the Bagong Pilipinas Strategy of the administration, with the GSIS as a key partner in implementing robust measures to develop innovative solutions, driving progress and sustainable development for our country,» he added.
