Guard beheaded in car showroom

MANILA, Philippines — A security guard was beheaded in a car dealership in Quezon City on Monday.

The decapitated body of Alfredo Tabin, 50, was found by two security guards in the Ford Balintawak showroom along EDSA in Barangay Apolonio Samson at around 7:50 a.m., according to police investigators.

Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, Quezon City Police District director, said investigators are searching for leads to determine the identity of Tabin’s killer and if the incident was the result of an inside job.

Tabin’s co-workers told probers they arrived at the establishment to relieve the victim of his duties.

They called out Tabin’s name and knocked on the gate but received no response, prompting them to forcibly open the entrance door of the showroom.

The two went to the parking entrance where they saw the victim’s beheaded body.

There were no other external injuries on Tabin’s body. Police have yet to locate the victim’s head.

The victim’s wife said in an interview over GMA News that Tabin usually calls her every day at around 5 p.m. to check on his family.

“Sa isip ko, gabi ko na lang siya ulit tatawagan bago ako makatulog (I was thinking that I would call him at night just before I sleep),” she said.

She learned what happened to Tabin when she visited the dealership on Christmas Day.
