Is the Honor Magic6 Pro worthy as a daily driver?

HONOR recently launched its flagship, the Magic6 Pro, in the market, and we were lucky enough to get our hands on it a few weeks before its release. In essence, the device continues to impress, so read on to know why.

The Honor Magic6 Pro is the latest iteration of the brand's flagship line, which the brand touts as the No. 1 artificial intelligence (AI) camera phone. Powering its impressive AI technology is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of (non-expandable) storage. The device runs on the latest MagicOS 8, based on Android 14.

Featuring a stunning 6.8-inch Quad Curved floating display with up to 120 hertz (hz) refresh rate and Dolby Vision support, the Magic6 Pro delivers an outstanding visual experience. It has a sustained brightness of 1,600 nits and a peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits, ensuring clear visuals in any lighting condition. Instead of the usual Gorilla Glass, the Magic6 Pro is equipped with Honor NanoCrystal Shield, which has proven to be durable against falls and daily wear and tear. Additionally, its IP68 rating certifies its resistance to dust and fresh water up to 1.5 meters (4 feet and 11 inches).

The Honor Magic6 Pro's screen is bright and crisp, one of the phone's best features. This brightness is paired with eye comfort features that include dynamic dimming, 4,320 hz PWM dimming, a Nature Tone Display similar to True Tone on iPhones, and a customizable Circadian Night display. Furthermore, the device boasts facial recognition and an on-screen fingerprint reader, which can unlock the screen and other apps that allow bio-recognition.

Design

Measuring 162.4 mm x 75.8mm x 8.9mm, and with the lightest variant weighing in at 225 grams, the device is undeniably substantial. However, this isn't a bad thing (at least for me) as the weight adds to the premium feel of the device, making it feel sturdy and well-built. The device can handle two nano subscriber identity module (SIM) cards or one nano SIM card + one eSIM simultaneously.

Similar to its predecessor, the Honor Magic6 Pro has a center-weighted three-camera setup. For this version, the lenses are framed in a raised squircle shape, said to be inspired by luxury watch
