Lady Knights in Final Four

MANILA, Philippines — They say fortune favors the brave.

It did with Lea Rizel Tapang who came through valiantly and willed Letran to a pulse-pounding 29-27, 20-25, 23-25, 25-23, 15-13 victory over a stubborn San Beda and straight to the NCAA Season 99 women’s volleyball Final Four at the Filoil EcoOil Arena.

Tapang came off the bench in scoring 11 points and steering the Lady Knights to their sixth win in eight outings and into Final Four berth for the first time since making it to the championship round 12 years ago.

Letran produced other heroes in Gia Maquilang and Marie Judiel Nitura, who poured in 24 and 15 points, respectively.
