Laguna Farmers Receive Farm Machines and Equipment from DAR

STA. CRUZ, Laguna– The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has distributed farm machines and equipment worth Php650,888.00 to two (2) farmer cooperatives in Laguna.

The distribution, part of DAR's Climate Resistant Farm Productivity Support Project (CRFPS), aims to enhance and sustain the agricultural productivity of agrarian reform communities, helping them adapt to climate change.

The Mayatba Farmers Association received a multi-cab delivery truck, garden tools, vegetable seeds, and fertilizers valued at Php 351,000.00. The Calangay Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Multi-Purpose Cooperative (CARBMPC) received a woodchipper, three knapsack sprayers, and a three-wheeler cargo truck worth Php 299,888.00.

DAR Assistant Secretary for Support Services, Ubaldo Sadiarin, led the distribution event held at the Cultural Center in the provincial capitol of Laguna.

“For every land that we give to farmers, we at the DAR will give you support services like these farm machines and equipment to make the lands given to you productive,” said Sadiarin.

The distribution coincided with the land title distribution ceremony, where 244 farmers were officially granted land titles through Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOAs).

DAR Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Saturnino Bello emphasized the importance of the farm machines in enabling rice, coconut, and vegetable farmers in Laguna to adapt to climate change and modernize their agricultural practices. Bello highlighted that DAR’s support extends beyond providing land titles to include services that empower farmers with the tools and knowledge necessary for sustainable agriculture and improved livelihoods.

“This initiative aims to enhance the farming practices and entrepreneurial success of agrarian reform beneficiaries after they receive their land ownership certificates,” said Bello. “We are dedicated to the sustainable progress and prosperity of the community by extending support beyond land allocation to include crucial training and resources,” he added.

Laguna Governor Melchor Ramil Hernandez expressed his gratitude to the DAR for their ongoing partnership in delivering agricultural support to Laguna farmers. He
