LPA likely to enter PAR--Pagasa

THE low pressure area (LPA) being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) is likely to enter the country within the next 24 to 48 hours, the weather agency said, Friday.

As of 4 a.m., it was seen 1,715 kilometers east of Central Luzon.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the possibility of the LPA developing into a tropical depression is not being ruled out, while its trough or its extension is currently affecting the eastern Viasayas and Mindanao.

It added that cloudy skies, isolated rain showers and thunderstorms are also expected in the areas of Palawan, Visayas and Zamboanga Peninsula as the southwest monsoon or habagat continue affect the western section of Southern Luzon and Visayas.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon and Mindanao will experience fair weather over the next 24 hours, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies, also with chances of sudden downpours.
