Maiden Hoop Nation Inter-Bank hoopla gets underway today | The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines —  The inaugural Hoop Nation Inter-Bank Basketball League will kick off today at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Before the hardcourt hostilities, Hoop Nation founder and league commissioner Adrian Dy said a simple opening ceremony will take place at 7:30 p.m.

The short program will be followed by the season-opening match between the Metro Ballers and Sterling Bank at 8:30 p.m.

In all, eight teams are seeing action in Hoop Nation’s first ever Inter-Bank cage wars.

The other contenders are the Cebu Bankers, Unibankers, BPI Talisay, Cash Hub, Metro Hoopers, and Mixed Ballers.

They will play a single round robin, with the top four advancing to the playoffs. The top two qualifiers will enjoy twice-to-beat advantage over the lower ranked squads. The winners will proceed to the semifinals, and then to the championship round. — EBV
