Marcos happy that people understand what govt is doing

PRESIDENT Marcos Jr. yesterday vowed to sustain government efforts that would uplift the lives of the Filipinos as he expressed elation that more people are understanding what the government is trying to achieve.

The President, in an interview on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Integrated Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation Project-Stage 1 (IDRR-CCA 1) in Pampanga, also emphasized the government is not pursuing its programs to achieve good survey ratings.

“I have to say that it is nice to know that people are beginning to understand what we are trying to do…Hindi kami nagde-decide dahil para sa magandang survey. Nagde-decide kami para pagandahin ang buhay ng Pilipinas (I have to say that it is nice to know that people are beginning to understand what we are trying to do…we do not decide for good surveys.

We decide to improve the lives of people in the Philippines),” he said.

“Kaya’t tuloy-tuloy ang mga — ganun pa rin ang gagawin namin (So we would continue what we are doing),” he added.

The June 26 to July 1 Tugon ng Masa (TNM) survey of Octa Research showed that 36 percent (up from 31 percent) of Filipinos considered themselves as pro-Marcos, or supportive of the administration of President Marcos Jr., while 16 percent (down from 20 percent) said they are pro-Duterte or supportive of the Dutertes and their political alliance.

The survey also showed that 31 percent (up from 29 percent) said they are neither pro-Marcos, pro-Duterte nor do they support the opposition while 5 percent (from 4 percent) said they support the opposition.
