Marcos: More benefits for uniformed men

PRESIDENT Marcos Jr. yesterday reaffirmed his commitment to promote the well-being of uniformed personnel and their families as he promised additional benefits like rice subsidies and better health services.

“With an increased 2024 budget for the DND (Department of National Defense), we’re dedicated to ensuring the well-being of our uniformed personnel and their families,” the President said during the New Year call in Malacañang of top officials of the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Marcos said his administration’s commitment to uplifting the lives of the uniformed personnel is evident in his support for the Revised AFP Modernization Program and the Pension and Gratuity Fund, ensuring financial stability for military and civilian personnel.

“Beyond duty, we prioritize their daily lives. I have approved a specific budget for rice subsidies and Tertiary Health Care at the AFP Medical Center for advanced medical services and overall wellness support,” he added.

The President received yesterday the security officials led by Presidential Adviser on Military and Police Affairs Secretary Roman Felix, PNP chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. and AFP chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr.

Also present were PNP Acting Deputy Chief for Administration Lt. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia, PNP Acting Deputy Chief for Operations Lt. Gen. Michael John Dubria, PNP Chief of Directorial Staff Lt. Gen. Emmanuel Peralta; Philippine Navy Flag Officer-in-Command Vice Adm. Toribio Adaci Jr., Philippine Army chief Lt. Gen. Roy Galido, and Philippine Air Force chief Lt. Gen. Stephen Parreño.
