Marcos to Pinoys: Live like Christ, share blessings

MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos is calling on Filipinos to live like Christ, share their blessings and pray for guidance as they strive to win over the challenges confronting them.

In his Easter Sunday message, Marcos emphasized that the “auspicious occasion” is a reminder that while faith, devotion and sacrifice are, by themselves, “worthy ideals” to aspire for, they also yield “great rewards both here on earth and the hereafter.”

“Today, we remember the fulfillment of the promise of Jesus Christ to humanity – that He will rise again and deliver eternal salvation for all,” he said.

“Let us draw inspiration from this important narrative as we overcome our personal and spiritual challenges. May this day also excite our hearts to live a Christ-like life, especially in sharing our blessings in whatever form with the poor, the sick and the down-trodden,” he added.

The President also urged Filipinos to unite in prayer as he mentioned Bagong Pilipinas, the governance branding of his administration.

“Let us unite in praying for the continued guidance of God Almighty in our collective pursuit to build the Bagong Pilipinas that we are destined to achieve. I wish everyone a happy and blessed Easter Sunday,” the Chief Executive said.

Christianity teaches that Jesus rose from the dead on the third day after he was crucified to redeem humanity from sin.

Easter Sunday is the most important feast for Christians, who believe that Jesus’ resurrection confirmed all His teachings and fulfilled His promises.
