Marcos to PNP: Uphold human rights

PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday called on the newly-promoted officials of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to uphold the highest standards of ethics and human rights as he reiterated his administration's zero tolerance policy for corruption and human rights abuses in the government.

In his speech during the oathtaking of the second batch of newly-promoted star rank officers of the PNP in Malacañang, the President insisted that there is no room for corruption and abuse of power in the country's police force and in the government.

«It is imperative that we reiterate our zero tolerance policy for corruption and human rights abuses within the PNP and for that matter, in all of [the] government,» Marcos told PNP officers.

«Sa Bagong Pilipinas na ating itinataguyod, walang puwang para sa hanay ng ating kapulisan ang korapsyon, pang-aabuso sa kapangyarihan, at iba pang katiwalian [at] mga ilegal na gawain (In the new Philippines that we are establishing, there is no room for corruption, abuse of power, and other illegal acts in the police force),» he added.
