MoA for youth entrepreneurship signed

THE Department of Education has signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with Go Negosyo to promote entrepreneurship and agriculture enterprise among Filipino youth through various programs and initiatives.

Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte and Go Negosyo founder Jose Maria «Joey» Concepcion 3rd signed the MoA during the organization's 18th anniversary in Makati City.

Duterte said that high school students, with the help of the private sector, can be introduced to basic agriculture concepts, where school gardens can be established.

«School gardens provide a platform for communities to come together, work toward a shared goal and promote healthy eating habits,» Duterte said.

Concepcion said that the success of Go Negosyo came from public-private partnerships, noting that some of the biggest agriculture companies had been organized under its Kalap, or Kapatid Angat Lahat sa Agri, initiative to harness the private sector to scale up the country's agriculture sector.

He noted that young Filipinos are becoming more interested in entrepreneurship; hence, the partnership with DepEd will «institutionalize» this training among future entrepreneurs.

«At our public entrepreneurship events, we are getting more young
