MPBA SEASON 3: ARQ marches into Elite Division finals | The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — The defending champions ARQ Builders booted out Matias Food Haus, 87-70, to secure a finals berth in the Elite Division of Mandaue’s Pride Basketball Association (MPBA) Commissioner’s Cup Season 3 at the Cebu Port Authority (CPA) Gym.

Ian Ortega fired 20 points on top of four rebounds while Jandele Flores had a double-double show of 11 points and 10 rebounds as ARQ moved closer towards accomplishing its mission of keeping its crown.

Aloysius Odias added 10 points, two rebounds and two assists for ARQ, which was in complete control of the match after establishing an early 29-19 lead.

ARQ’s biggest advantage though stood at 17 points, 69-52, late in the third period.

In the Premier Division, Archie Ladero exploded for 28 points on top of four boards and two dimes as the Flago Prayboys obliterated Urestore, 124-81, to march into the semifinals.

Marlon Pepito scattered 19 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists, just one point ahead of Anthony Ybanez who finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.

Sabellano tallied 14 markers while Royet Varga produced a rare triple-double of 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists for the Prayboys, who will take on the twice-to-beat Metro Cars in the semis. — (FREEMAN)
