NAGWAGING ABM LEARNERS SA NUCLEAR SCITECH COMPETITION, TUTUNGO SA AUSTRIA STUDY TOUR

Inimbitahan ang dalawang Grade 12 ABM learners na sina Salina M. Konno and Jhames Bernard M. Dingle ng Francisco E. Barzaga Integrated High School sa Dasmariñas, Cavite sa Vienna, Austria para sa isang study tour sa International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) headquarters matapos magwagi sa birtwal na Nuclear Science and Technology (NST) Education Exhibition 2023. 

Ito ay matapos manalo ang mga mag-aaral, sa gabay ni Coach at Teacher Miscelle C. Moangca, para sa kanilang inisyatiba na pinamagatang “Doing the Initiatives: Making Plastic Useful not Awful” na isang video presentation ukol sa paggamit ng nuclear technology sa pagresolba ng plastic pollution.    

“We discussed a chemical recycling process that aims to eliminate the aforementioned problem, namely pyrolysis. It is a thermo-chemical plastic waste treatment technique that uses heat to change the chemical composition of materials, which are then cooled and compressed into a variety of useful products in society,” paliwanag ni Salina.  

Wika naman ni Jhames na mahalaga ang nasabing inisyatiba dahil nagpapalaganap ito ng “kamalayan ukol sa mga epekto ng polusyon sa plastik sa buhay ng bawat organismo sa mundo. Kabilang na rin ang pagbibigay nila ng impormasyon sa kung paano masosolusyonan ang hamon gamit ang agham at teknolohiya.” 

“With the anticipated NST Education Study Tour to be scheduled late 2023 or early 2024, we can gain a new and improved perspective which will shape us into seasoned IAEA affiliates. Above all, we will be honored to gain powerful insights into the International Atomic Energy Agency’s initiatives and objectives from valuable people directly associated with the organization,” saad ni Salina.
