News anchor Jiggy Manicad moves into new home network

MANILA, Philippine: Veteran news anchor Jiggy Manicad is returning to television news through TV5's flagship news bulletin, Frontline Pilipinas.

During Frontline's Thursday evening broadcast, the network announced Manicad will be the news bulletin's third news anchor on weeknights, joining Cheryl Cosim and Julius Babao.

News5 also showed Manicad signing his contract with its executives, including its news head, Luchi Cruz-Valdez.

Babao and Cosim also welcomed their new co-anchor in separate posts on Facebook and Instagram.

Manicad was part of GMA News between 1995 and 2018, having anchored 24 Oras Weekend and Quick Response Team, before making a run for the Senate in the 2019 midterm elections, under the ticket of then Davao City mayor and now Vice President Sara Duterte. After his Senate run, he also hosted the show Agripreneur on GMA.
