NHCP to launch centennial celebration

THE National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) will launch its centennial celebration, «Sandaan,» on its 90th anniversary program at the Presidential Car Museum in Quezon City on October 23 at 9 a.m. Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda will be the event's guest of honor.

The centennial theme, «Patuloy sa pagtuklas (Keep on discovering),» recalls the original mandate of the Philippine Historical Research and Markers Committee to research and mark the historic sites and events in Philippine history during the rapid change of the 1930s. Beyond its 100th year, the NHCP continues its commitment to lead in discovering the nation's past, and aid people in discovering the lessons of history for the future.

The NHCP is the principal government agency mandated with strengthening the people's nationalism through the promotion of Philippine history and the protection of our heritage.
