No OFW hurt in Jeddah building collapse
THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) yesterday said no Filipino worker in Saudi Arabia was hurt after a building in central Jeddah collapsed last Friday.
It said the Migrant Workers Office in Jeddah has visited the incident site and several nearby hospitals to check for any Filipino taken there for treatment.
Monitoring on the condition and needs of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the area will continue, the DMW also said.
At least eight persons have been rescued after a residential building collapsed in the Al Faisaliah district of central Jeddah.
Saudi Arabia remains the leading destination for OFWs.
