Nograles resigns as Civil Service Commission chief

(UPDATES) MALACAÑANG on Monday confirmed the resignation of Karlo Nograles as chairman of the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

In a text message to reporters, acting Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Cesar Chavez said Nograles had submitted his resignation letter.

In his letter, Nograles said resigning was a «difficult decision to make» and thanked President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for giving him the opportunity «to serve alongside such dedicated public servants.»

«It has been a privilege and an honor to serve our countrymen as part of the institution mandated by the Constitution to promote morale, efficiency, integrity, responsiveness, progressiveness, and courtesy in the civil service,» he said.

«This experience has moved me to return to my roots in Davao City — where I hope to bring and apply the lessons I have learned in my tenure as the head of the Commission, as well as my two decades in government,» Nograles added.

A former lawmaker, Nograles served under the Duterte administration as Cabinet secretary.
