Over 10K aspirants complete Bar exams

FOR the third and final day of the 2024 Bar examinations yesterday, Supreme Court Associate Justice and Bar Exams Committee chairperson Mario Lopez said 10, 490 aspirants completed the test.

Lopez said the Bar examinees completed the Criminal Law segment of the test on Sunday morning, and Remedial Law, Legal and Judicial Ethics with Practical Exercises in the afternoon.

The magistrate said no untoward incident marred the conduct of this year’s Bar examination in 14 local testing centers nationwide, including several in the National Capital Region.

Aside from UP Diliman and the University of Sto. Tomas, the other testing centers in Metro Manila were located at the Manila Adventist College in Pasay City, San Beda University, University of the Philippines-Bonifacio Global City in Taguig and San Beda College-Alabang.

San Beda also served as the nerve center of this year’s monitoring of the conduct of the Bar exams.

The rest of the local testing centers were located at the Saint Louis University-Baguio City, University of Nueva Caceres in Naga City, University of San Jose-Recoletos in Cebu City, Central Philippine University, Dr. V. Orestes Romualdez Educational Foundation in Tacloban City, Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro City and Ateneo de Davao University.

Earlier, the SC said 12,246 law graduates applied to take this year’s Bar examinations. Of the applicants, 5,234 are new applicants; 4,060 previous takers; and 1,189 refreshers.

There are also 155 senior citizens who applied to take the Bar, and 313 with special needs.
