P3.4-M worth of shabu seized from siblings in Maguindanao del Norte police operation

COTABATO CITY — Plainclothes policemen confiscated P3.4 million worth of shabu from two siblings entrapped in the town proper of Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte on Saturday.

Brig. Gen. Prexy Tanggawohn, director of the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, told reporters on Monday that Monzor Talusan, 34, and his 19-year-old brother, Wuji, were detained immediately after selling P3.4 million worth of shabu to policemen in an entrapment operation in Barangay Poblacion, Datu Odin Sinsuat.

The two hail from Barangay Tambak in nearby Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte.

Tanggawohn said they fell in a sting laid by personnel of the Datu Odin Sinsuat Municipal Police Station, led by Lt. Col. Sahibon Mamantal, and officials of different units from the Maguindanao del Norte Provincial Police Office and PRO-BAR.

The entrapment operation that led to the arrest of the Talusans was supported by confidential informants aware of their large-scale peddling of shabu in Maguindanao del Norte and in barangays in Cotabato City, according to Tanggawohn.

Tanggawonh said that both suspects are now clamped down in a police detention facility. They will be prosecuted for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
