P7.2M worth of dried cannabis seized from local supplier along Kennon Road

TUBA, Benguet —  At least P7.2M worth of dried cannabis leaves and stalks packed in a cylindrical packaging was seized in a sting operation against a local drug trader along Camp 4, Kennon Road in Tuba, Benguet on Wednesday morning.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Regions 4A and Cordillera agents who laid out the sting operation said that an undercover anti-narcotics agent posed as a buyer agreed to meet alleged high-grade marijuana supplier Arnel Guidayos, 26, from sitio Lingey, barangay Tacadang, Kibungan, Benguet along Kennon Road.

Not an inkling that was trading with a government agent, Guidayos brought 60 pieces of dried marijuana leaves and stalks in cylindrical packaging tucked inside three chute sacks to their agreed rendezvous. He was immediately accosted when he handed the cannabis and received the supposed payment, which were a combination of genuine and fluorescent powder-laced boodle money.

Guidayos was apprehended and will face illegal drug trading charges. On the other hand, the seized contraband and non-drug evidences, inventoried in the presence of barangay and Department of Justicce and media representatives, were brought to the PNP Crime Laboratory in Camp Dangwa in La Trinidad, Benguet.
