Pagdanganan falters

MANILA, Philippines — Bianca Pagdanganan lost steam after a hot start, scrambling with a two-over 74 that pulled her down to joint 35th from tied second at the halfway mark of the Mizuno Americas Open Friday in Jersey City.

After an opening 68, Pagdanganan coughed up a lone birdie on No. 16 after bogeys on Nos. 3, 13 and 14 to submit 142 through 36 holes and find herself seven strokes behind new leader Atthaya Thitikul of Thailand (135 after a 65).
