Palace orders grant of service recognition incentive to gov’t workers

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 12) – Malacañang has ordered the grant of service recognition incentive to government employees this year.

Published in the Official Gazette, the order states that the incentive would be given at a uniform rate of up to ₱20,000 and must be distributed not earlier than Dec. 15.

Civilian employees, military and police officers, fire and jail personnel, and those working in the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority are entitled to the incentive.

To qualify, employees must be of service as of Nov. 30 and must render at least four months of service.

The order also states that employees in Congress, the Judiciary, the Office of the Ombudsman and Constitutional offices may likewise be granted the same one-time incentive by their respective heads of offices.

Meanwhile, the incentive of those who work in local government units (LGUs) is subject to the LGU’s financial capability and budget limitation under the Local Government Code.

In another administrative order, Contract of Service and Job Order workers are granted a one-time gratuity pay of not more than ₱5,000, which will be given also not earlier than Dec. 15.
