Pinoys hurt in Taiwan quake rise to 11

MANILA, Philippines — Two more overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) were reported injured in the aftermath of a strong earthquake in Taiwan, according to the Department of Labor and Employment (DMW).

“This brings to 11 the number of injured OFWs following the earthquake,” DMW officer-in-charge Hans Cacdac posted on X on Monday.

Cacdac said a Filipino worker suffered a left ankle ligament injury while the other suffered an abrasion of the left hand.

Both OFWs, Cacdac said, are being provided medical treatment.

He noted that all the OFWs suffered minor injuries from the magnitude 7.2 earthquake that jolted Taiwan last week.

The Migrant Workers Office in Taipei is monitoring the health and condition of the OFWs.
