PLDT Hitters geared-up for action

MANILA, Philippines — With a bevy of new recruits, the PLDT High Speed Hitters are all geared up for the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference opening this weekend.

“We have new players who can help us, and we look forward to them gelling and supporting the core of the team. We’re also banking on our system, we hope that everyone can show their improvement in this conference,” said coach Rald Ricafort.

Middle blocker and team captain Mika Reyes is hopeful they can compete with any team, more so if they can avoid injuries.

“We also hope to see the fruits of our hard work during the offseason,” Reyes said.

Meanwhile, fresh recruit and US NCAA outside hitter Filipino-Canadian Savannah Davison is looking forward to the competition. “I can’t wait to experience it. I’m also excited for PLDT and our team, and how far we can go in this conference. I feel like we have a really good chance this year,” she said.

Twelve teams will compete this year during the second All-Filipino Conference.

“We continue to support the PLDT High Speed Hitters as they go through another exciting journey at the PVL. We wish them all the best in this conference,” said Jude Turcuato, Head of Sports at PLDT and Smart.

Davison and Reyes invite fans to watch the games live.

“We want to thank all those who support the PLDT High Speed Hitters, and we’re counting on you in the upcoming conference,” Reyes said.

“Come support us in our PVL Conference this year, we’re going to need you especially during the tough matches, and I can’t wait to meet all of you,” added Davison.

Meanwhile, Smart subscribers on the go can catch all the PVL action on the Smart LiveStream App using their smartphones or tablets while connected to Smart mobile Internet or their PLDT Home WiFi, which allows subscribers access to absolutely free streaming and no monthly app subscriptions. Smart LiveStream App offers a user-friendly interface and high-quality streaming to make the experience more fun for fans. Smart subscribers are free to stream, no subscription needed.
