PNP acquires P485 million guns, mobility assets

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has procured firearms and mobility equipment amounting to P485 million.

At a ceremony at Camp Crame yesterday, the PNP unveiled its additional equipment, including 143 patrol jeeps, motorcycles, 3,243 9mm pistols, 406 units of Autogated Night Vision and 2,648 tactical vests.

According to the PNP, the procurement of assets was made possible through the efforts of its Bids and Awards Committee, utilizing funds from various sources.

Support from Senators Sonny Angara and Imee Marcos as well as Ilocos Norte 1st District Rep. Sandro Marcos also contributed to the acquisition of the police equipment.

PNP chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda thanked the Marcos administration for its continued support for the police organization.

“I believe that deploying well-equipped personnel will enhance our anti-crime operations,” Acorda said.
